Các đề cử cho hạng mục Trò chơi của năm bao gồm A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarök, Horizon: Forbidden West, Stray và Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The Game Awards 2022 có tổng cộng 31 giải thưởng, những trò chơi chiến thắng được xác định bằng một cuộc bỏ phiếu kết hợp giữa ban giám khảo (90%) và bình chọn công khai của người hâm mộ (10%).
